Bush holiday gifts to polluters just keep on coming

It's been a dizzying array of gifts to industry from the Bush administration in the past two weeks -- new deals for cement plants, hopes for lead smelters, a big win for the oil industry, weaker chemical reporter requirements, and on and on.

And the gifts just keep on coming.

The latest is a new proposal that would permit weaker requirements for industries the spew out toxic air pollutants.

It's more than a little technical (for details, see the EPA proposal at ).

Bottom line: it's yet another political gift to polluting industries.
